Two days Virtual Clay Modelling and Music activity held
A two days Clay Modelling and Music activity was organized online for class III & IV on 28th and 29th December, 2020 to provide children a creative environment to develop their aesthetic sense and provide them an opportunity to express themselves freely.
It was a pleasure to watch their petite fingers at work, making colourful and artistic models. Under the guidance and direction of their teachers, children came up with their own ideas and stunning creations. The little hands worked smoothly and efficiently to fulfil their heart’s desires and fantasies. Manipulation with clay provided an outlet for children to physically convey their emotions and reduce stress. They pounded, squeezed, rolled and blended the clay to make some unique and amazing creations like fish, roses, snow man, angry bird, watermelon, boat, butterfly, dog, bird, puppies, lamps, cakes, masks, artefacts, toys, octopus etc and displayed them with pride on screen. It was a great way to develop imagination and sparkle creativity to think out of the box. Clay craft and music is a fun and interesting way to encourage children’s imagination and creativity. Clay modelling also enhanced dexterity, gross and fine motor skills and helped to boost the self-confidence of the students. It promoted problem solving skills as they learnt to make beautiful things with clay, using planning, constructing and deconstructing techniques. The students actively participated in music activities and also sang different songs in different languages like Kashmiri Punjabi, English and Hindi beautifully that were planned for them. The students also shared some information about musical instruments like Rabab, Guitar, Piano, Harmonium etc.
All these activities provided children a break from the monotony of work and helped them in developing their creativity. All the teachers and students actively participated and worked hard to make these activities fruitful and full of fun. The students showed great enthusiasm and gaiety in their respective activities.
