DPS, Srinagar organizes a webinar with Ashoka University
On April 9th, School conducted an informative webinar for students with one of the pioneer institutes of the country, Ashoka University, on “Liberal Arts Education in India”. The mentor for the webinar, Mr. Harpreet Singh, Assistant Director Outreach for Ashoka University provided insights on the wide variety of career options available in the field of Liberal Arts and debunked myths around Liberal Arts Education in India. He focused on the New Education Policy 2020 (NEP 2020) which is promoting this change and the vital role it envisions for Liberal Education in holistic education for the students. The session also discussed the holistic admission process of the university and how students can work on their profile while in school. Participants were given all the information regarding the multidisciplinary undergraduate programmes offered by the University, in the interest of exposing students to many different perspectives in and out of the classroom. The session benefited students to understand programs offered, admission criteria, and financial aid offered by Ashoka University.
The webinar concluded with a dedicated Q&A section for the attendees in order to address their queries.
