Debate held in Senior School Library

The first debate of the session 2021 was held on 22nd March in the senior school library from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm. The debate club members of classes 7, 8, 9 and 10, library staff, Academic In-charge of secondary wing and English coordinator were present on the occasion. The debate started with a brief welcome note by Afreen of class X and the English coordinator. There were four pairs of students debating against one another on four different topics.

The first pair Anna Amina X and Esha Tariq X- debated on the topic ‘Books vs Movies’ and Anna came out to be the winner with her simple but impressive style. She was for Books. The second pair Annab IX  and Areen IX- debated on the topic ‘Online classes vs Offline classes’ and it was Areen who won the hearts. She spoke for Offline classes. The third pair – Asma X and Khalid Khursheed IX- debated on the topic ‘ Vernacular Language vs English language’. It was an energetic rebuttal but Khalid stole the show. He spoke in support of Vernacular Language. The last pair – Nur Sadiq X and Afreen Jeelani X- debated on ‘ Schools vs Coaching centers’. Afreen gave a tough fight but Nur came out as the winner. Nur spoke for Schools.

At last, the students in the audience asked questions to the debaters which they answered well. It was a wonderful exchange of ideas and a delight to watch.
