April is Autism Awareness month, globally recognized as the time to promote acceptance and celebrate differences. Each year, Learning Resource Centre (LRC) of Delhi Public School, Srinagar strives to celebrate World Autism Awareness day day with great ardour and gusto.
It is celebrated with a hope to develop an insight and spread knowledge about the early diagnosis of Autism in general with the main focus on children.
The event was hosted by Ms. Baida of English Remedial Section who presented a general overview about this day. Ms. Erum in-charge of Autism Department, shared her thoughts regarding the World Autism Awareness Day.
Thereafter, parents were asked to disclose their personal experiences of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Moreover, a grandparent of an autistic child presented her insightful views regarding the experience she has gone through in bringing up an autistic child. It was very intense and empathetic experience for all of us to hear from parents.
The honourable Vice Principal of Delhi Public School, Ms. Shafaq Afshan delivered a heartfelt experience of the journey and the progress LRC has pulled off.
The coordinator of LRC Ms. Munaza presented vote of thanks to the whole parent fraternity and to the audience.
