Visit of Mr. Naveen Chawala

Former Chief Election Commissioner of India

Visited on 25 September, 2012

I have been associated with many Schools, but D.P.S, Srinagar is special. To have 4000 children in an atmosphere that is tranquil, is a story by my friend, Mr. Vijay Dhar who has overcome many obstacles to create an Institution that is more remarkable. I enjoyed the interaction with Class 11th students on "Elections in India".

Mr. Naveen Chawala, former Chief Election Commissioner of India visited D.P.S, Srinagar on 25th of September, 2012. Mr. Naveen Chawala attended the interaction session with class 11th students, wherein he briefed students about the electoral processes of India and the challanges faced by the office of the Electorate. The students sat through the whole session awed and mesmerized and attended the session very seriously and enthusiastically.

At the end of the session, the students asked a number of questions and were satisfied with the answers of Mr. Naveen Chawala. The honorable guest also suggested a Project for the D.P.S students to study the Election processes all over the world and make a general report of the same so that he can show it to various institutions in India and abroad.
