The Home Minister @ DPS acres

Home-Minister of India

Visited on 12 October, 2012

I happened to visit this School at the invitation of my brother, Vijay Dhar. I could not believe that he has such a beautiful School in India. For some time, I felt I was in Foreign Country. I interacted with the boys and girls. They are wonderful, clever and most disciplined. I wish the School Progress in this endeavor.

The Minister for Home Affairs, Honurable Sh. Sushil Kumar Shinde visited DPS, Srinagar on the 13th of October, 2012. His visit began with a detailed round of the School Campus followed by an interactive session with the staff and the students. At the outset, Ms. Surabhi delivered the Welcome Speech in Marathi which was indeed a touching moment for Mr. Shinde who hails from Maharashtra. Ms. Shafaq highlighted the achievements and touched upon the history of the School. Then the Senior students asked some questions to the Honourable Home Minister which he answered and enjoyed the discussion with the young generation, in his words “The Future of India”. Mr. Shinde, while addressing the gathering, congratulated the School for the wonderful work it has done. He also expressed his contentment over the crucial role played by Mr. Vijay Dhar in providing quality education in Kashmir. He further quoted that he was delighted to see the facilities being given to the students in the School. Mr. Shinde finally ended his Speech saying that he is aware of the problems faced by the people of Kashmir and will provide an unstinting support for the all-round development of education system and development of the School. At last, the Principal of the School, Ms. Kusam Warikoo gave the vote of Thanks and thanked Mr. Shinde for being kind enough to visit the School.
