Visit to farmhouse – Harvesting the Gifts of Nature

26-05-17

The tiny tots were joyous to re-visit the farmhouse on May 26, 2017 and it was quite a proud moment for them to see the saplings that they had planted about a month ago on the plantation day, grown into bigger plants. Our little farmers eagerly and excitedly harvested the fruits of their labour. They harvested the plants of knol-khol and cabbage in abundance in their paper bags, staying loyal to the slogan of ‘Go green, Go Clean’. The students graciously accepted these harvested vegetables as gifts. The visit helped them understand and explore small tactics of farming while dealing with fresh vegetables and the rich soil. The teachers taught the students tit bits like while harvesting plants the yellow leaves are to be removed and plants are to be dealt with care. All the students were excited to visit the farmhouse again and indulge in gardening. It was quite a celebration for the little children to have harvested the gifts that nature offered to them as a result of their hard labour and dedication.
