Junior Wing celebrates World Heritage Day

The Junior Wing (III-IV) of the school celebrated “World Heritage Day” on 24th April 2018.

The celebrations commenced at 10.00 am at the Amphitheatre in the school ground with the school prayer. It was followed by the traditional Kashmiri theatrical practice of Ladishah, which aimed at making the audience aware about the importance of heritage and its preservation. A dance performance titled “Hello to the children of the world” followed next through which students expressed different semiotics of love.

The dance was succeeded by an informative speech on the topic delivered by Sarah Masoodi of class 4th I. Next, a melodious song soothed the audience. A small felicitation ceremony followed. Three children of the school who have brought laurels to the school by winning Gold, Silver and Bronze medal in Thang Tha Championship held at Haryana, Rohtak recently. They were felicitated by our Pro Vice Chairman Mr. Vijay Dhar.

After the ceremony, it was time for some more fun and frolic. The traditional dance ro’af, the heart and soul of Kashmiri culture, added spice to the event which was followed by the soul touching performance by Farees and Zainab.

A flag show with the national anthem of different countries was also presented that added to the beauty of the celebration

Finally a blend of dance performances depicting many of the countries showcased the talent of our children. Students enthralled the audience with their alluring performance.

The assembly was attended by the Pro Vice Chairman Mr. Vijay Dhar, Ms. Kiran Dhar, Principal Mr.Alistair R A Freese, Vice Principal Ms.Shafaq Afshan, Academic Incharge (3- 10) Ms.Nowsheen Bashir, Incharge Middle wing Ms.Monisa, Incharge Tiny Tots Ms. Radifa and the coordinator to all the activities Ms Syed Sumaira.

The assembly concluded with the address of Pro Vice Chairman Mr. Vijay Dhar, who appreciated the efforts of students as well as the teachers.
